Washington County Maryland is located in the upper northwest panhandle of the state and from the Washington Metropolitan region. It shares its eastern border with Montgomery County and its northern border with Pennsylvania. The County is aproxmatly 460 square miles and is home to 131,923 people. The county geography is dominated by the mountains of the Blue Ridge. The county is also home to numerous state and national parks.
